Our content policy
We aim to offer the most thorough, practical, and valuable travel advice out there. That’s why, for every destination we cover, you’ll often find several guides to help with every aspect of your trip—from how to get there, to what to do and where to stay. Our goal is to make planning your holiday as stress-free as possible and inspire you to travel more.
If you’re curious about how we create and maintain our content, here’s a closer look. You can also learn more about us and our travel adventures on our About Us page.
Our content
Every piece of content on this blog has been written by us. We take pride in sharing real experiences, with everything rooted in our personal travels. We make sure to explore every nook and cranny, going beyond the well-known tourist spots to uncover hidden gems and share them with you.
We combine our first-hand experiences with additional research from fellow bloggers or experts, ensuring the content is up-to-date and as useful as possible. If a post was written by another author, we make sure to highlight their expertise, so you know exactly who wrote it.
We frequently update older posts to reflect changes—whether that’s new attractions, updated prices, or even closing down businesses—so you’ll always have the latest information. We have a regular review every 6-12 months, and we update posts ad-hoc as we’re aware of changes. If you see something which isn’t correct anymore, please let us know.
The majority of photographs on our site are taken by us. Sometimes we don’t have a suitable photo, for example if we didn’t take one or the ones we took just weren’t very good. We’ll then use stock images – but we try and keep this to a minimum.
We are big believers in authentic travel and sustainable travel. You’ll see articles on these topics, and they form a golden thread throughout our content. For this reason, we don’t write about animal tourism unless we are absolutely certain it is done ethically and sustainably, and is recommended by official bodies.
How we make money
We support this blog through affiliate links, so we don’t charge you for any of our content. This is through TravelPayouts, which automatically changes some links to affiliate links, and we only earn revenue if a reader clicks on them and purchases a product. You won’t pay any extra, but we earn a small commission from the advertiser.
We only promote services we believe in, and don’t change our content or recommendations to increase the chance of a commission. For example, we will nearly always recommend visiting an attraction by your own means, even though we could earn a commission if we recommended a tour. All our recommendations are tested personally or vetted through extensive research.
We don’t feature sponsored content. This means we never publish paid posts that are written by brands themselves in exchange for money.
